Chromebook Blank Screen issue

Problem

NWSC IT has noted that some of our Chromebooks are experiencing a bug when they receive an OS update the screen goes black and is unresponsive but the power remains on.

Solution

This issue only effects the ASUS Chromebooks mainly in F-Block.

To fix this issue perform the following steps

On the Chromebook device Press and hold the Esc and Refresh key.
While holding the Esc and Refresh key. Press the power button on the side
Let go of all the keys
Wait for the following screen to appear.
Press the power button to turn off the Chromebook
Press the power button again to turn the Chromebook back on.

Corrupt OS
If you see the following screen at Step 4 Notify NWSC IT.
