NWSC ViVi Casting

This document is to assist Staff at Narre Warren South P-12 College with the use of the streaming service device “ViVi”

Getting started.

To Use the ViVi device you will need to download and install the ViVi App

Using ViVI

Once you have installed the App you can start using it on any ViVi Enabled TV at Narre Warren South P-12 College

Open the App
Locate the Room you want to stream in.
You then have a choice of Tools to use with your TV

Share Screen

Share Screen will share your entire Screen to the TV at once allowing students to see everything you can see on your device as you see it.

When sharing your screen you will see options in a floating box

The options are

Stop which will stop the streaming of your device screen
Pause which will freeze the screen at that point in time on the TV
Home which will bring up the Full client window
Hide this will hide the floating box from view
Volume Volume control on the TV
Move Mode slows down the stream for a smoother video presenting
Annotate Captures the device screen at that point in time and places it into the whiteboard

Play Video

Play Video allows you to play a video from a website directly to the TV without needing to have your device screen also on show.

Highlight and copy the web address of the video from your web browser
Paste the copied web address into the ViVi App
Click Play Video

Using the Chrome Extention to stream Video

If you have also installed the Chrome Browser Vivo Extention

You can stream the videos from a website directly from google chrome.

Have the Video ready in Google Chrome
Click on the Blue ViVi Extention that you have pinned in Google Chrome. On the right-hand side
Click Play Video

This will play the Video on the TV while the ViVi app is minimised.

Whiteboard

This tool will turn your TV into a whiteboard that you can draw on

If you use this function with the Share Screen option Annotate you can draw, circle or squiggle over the captured image

Clock and Timers

Clock and Timers can turn your TV into a clock, countdown clock or Stopwatch

Wellness

Wellness is a wellness and mindfulness toll that has pre-recorded videos that can be shows on the TV such as

Breathing exercises
Finding happiness at home
Staying positiive

Advance ViVi features

Screenshot, Message Class, Assessment and Polls are more advanced interactive tools that are currently not covered in the ViVi pilot program.

Using the Google Chrome ViVi Extention

With your installed ViVi app you also have a companion Google Chrome ViVi extension that enhances the wireless Device Screen and Video streaming experience.

From, this extension you can share your device screen or stream a Video from a website while keeping the ViVi app minimised.
